Oh Sweet Revenge

This week’s race in Pheonix allowed two teams to give a little payback to those who beat them in the opening race at Daytona. The Miami Kennycases took down the leader going into last week, Hames’ Sloppy Seconds, after Ryan Newman bowed out of the race after only 134 laps. Car problems also brought down Aborted Fetus Salad when Elliot Sadler, who was the subject of a trade last week, blew his engine and dropped from a top ten car to a 41st place finish. This allowed Team Brohl to take advantage of the three car team, who had been winning by 150 points at the time of the engine failure, and steamrolled to a 522 point win, besting AFS by over 50 points, and securing a second consecutive event win. Team Brohl now leads NASCAR with 3 event wins and 3863 points. Unfortunately for AFS, had they not traded away Travis Kvapil for Elliot Sadler they would have won. Although Kvapil could not carry the day for the newly named team Biggest Douche in the Universe. Who lost for a second time to the other newly named Team Meximelt, who with this win jumps into a three way tie for first at 6-2 with Hames and Brett. Unfortunately Harman remains in the cellar at a mere 1-7. Last, and least was the TJ vs Sack matchup which was a hard fought battle finishing at a close 438 to 409. The difference maker was again Michael Waltrip who for some reason Sack decided to bench in favor of Matt Kenseth. Had the team manager stuck to his guns and kept the all-star Waltrip in his lineup he could have taken the win. Hopefully it will be a good lesson for the struggling Team DingleBerryPie and hopefully the third time around they will be able to clinch a win over Suzy’s Big Ass during week 15 at Michigan.

Phoenix Race Scoreboard

Don't forget that NASCAR is a Saturday night race this week. The green flag should drop around 8:45PM.

Keep track of how your team and all the other teams are doing here:

And congratulations to Team Meximelt for being on top of the Jeremy Mayfield fiasco. Too slow to score Johnny Sauter for this week however.

Fantasy Foursome

Reach up and pull those belts tight! This is the first week where all four RFC events will be in play, thanks to the debut of fantasy drag racing. This new wildcard event could open the door for a standings shake-up, which has thus far been dominated by Team Case. PBR is the odd man out by hosting its event in Nebraska, rather than the southwest like all three other RFC events. BASS sticks around Texas for another week, NHRA is preparing to tear up the Las Vegas strip, and NASCAR heads to sunny Phoenix, where hopefully they can avoid the rain clouds for the second week in a row. This week marks the start of the second round of NASCAR match-ups, so it is revenge time for all those who got stomped in round one. For those who don’t remember, and to rub salt in the wound, Harman suffered a one point loss in week one to the then single owner Team Haser. Revenge will be twice a sweet this time around if he can manage to knock the Burns/Haser duo out of second place with a stunning upset. Team Brohl will also be looking to avenge their narrow 21 point loss to Aborted Fetus Salad in the hope of tying Hames for first place. Team Brohl looks poised to secure his fourth win in a row, coming off an event win and fielding 3 of the top 8 drivers at Phoenix over the last 3 years. Both the MiamiKennycases and Team Dingleberry Pie suffered tough losses in week one but that was probably because Bryan had four drivers in instead of three and Sack did not have Michael Waltrip on his team. Look for these recent team strategies to add a new edge to their match-ups in week 8.

Stancil Racing Inc. Still Sweating Waltrip's Nuts

Hames has once again taken over as the NASCAR leader with a 6-1 record after Sack decided that letting Micheal Waltrip ruin his team two weeks in a row wasn't enough. Although Hames became the overall leader the day's event win went to Team Brohl, who was somehow or another able to pull out a victory over the MiamiKennycases. I guess it isnt too surprising though since Bryan decided to join the "Three Drivers are Better than Four" club which now consists of Haser, TJ, and Mr. Kotwicki. While Hames was busy taking over first place Harman was busy cursing Kurt Busch and securing dead last with a 1-6 record and a loss to Suzy's Big Ass, thanks in whole to a game saving race by Jimmie Johnson. We also saw a solid performance from Burns/Haser racing after a bad first week. The meger came back strong to squash the rumors that their stable was in trouble after the transition to a two owner team. Burns was also able to grab an event win with a choice Mike Iaconelli pick in BASS, and posted a respectable second place in PBR, which by the way was the only event that Team Case managed to edge out Team Burns for a win this week. As for which, I would like to thank all my bulls for their excellent efforts, especially McNasty (mostly just for having such a sweet name).
