Wine Country Wrap Up

The first NASCAR road race has evened up the standings quite a bit. There are again 3 teams tied for first, all with 11 wins. Thanks to Team Brohl dropping two races in a row the standings are becoming more unpredictable. Team Stancil got their second NASCAR event win of the season and would have most likely taken second place in the overall standings had they remembered to enter the PBR event this week. It is the first event that Team Stancil has missed all year and it could come back to hurt them. Team Burns isn't complaining however, they now have a nice cushion to work with and a PBR event win to go with it. An impressive showing again this week for the RFC in the PBR national standing with a 3rd place finish for Team Burns, a 6th place finish for Team Case and a 33rd place finish for Team Spaulding. Team Burns also managed to break the single week PBR record with his score of 497 breaking their own old record of 486. NHRA also saw a record breaking week from Team Case who scored 721 points also eclipising their old record of 640. Team Case picked all four winners of the NHRA events and finished 17th in the national standings.

New Standings Uploaded

Sorry for the late update on the standings this week but they are up now. Keep your eye out because we have bulls and NHRA coming up this week. So pick you NHRA drivers if you havent already and when you notice the bulls have been posted shoot an email to everyone.

Congratulations to Bryan who swept the events this week. He now has 7 event wins and is in second overall in that category. Him and Sack also made a big jump on Burns to try and take the number two overall points position. Next week NASCAR is heading to Sonoma or Infineon Raceway which is a road course so look for some interesting results there.

Back to Normal

The stars have apparently realigned because this week in NASCAR Team Harman lost, Team Brohl won the event, Micheal Waltrip did not carry Stancil's team (let alone even outscore any of his other drivers) and two of Team Case's drivers decided they should crash into each other. So you can stop worrying that things are spiralling out of control and for God's sake stop thinking about making that trade with Harman for Robby Gordon and Joe Nemechek. In other news Team Stancil has been the top scoring team for two weeks in a row and is making a strong push for second place. He took the win in BASS this week and had strong top three showings in PBR and NHRA. Team Burns became the first mutlievent winner for NHRA, and maintains his spot as the top dog in that event. Oh right, and Team Case dominated PBR but that goes without saying.

The Return of the Mack

In case you haven't already heard through one of the various forums in which Harman has declared his victory... hell has frozen over and Team Harman has finally captured their second NASCAR H2H victory of the season. Let's hope it is not another 12 weeks before they get their third. Despite Harman's strong showing in NASCAR Sack's team was able to outscore the rest of the field and capture their first NASCAR event win. Matt Kenseth who has been struggling this year, had an impressive race and finally started earning that fourth place draft position by helping to propel Team DingleBerryPie to the top of the scoreboard. As for NHRA there can only be one winner, so sorry Hames but the ridiculously lucky Team Barra gets the event win. While both Team Spaulding and Team Barra finished with 452 points the tiebreaker goes in favor of team Barra because he picked the top scoring driver. So this now means that everyone has at least one event win this year, congratulations to the field. Yes, despite not having played an NHRA event all season, picking all the female drivers except the winner (Hillary Will), and starting T.J. Zizzo who has possibly not raced all year, Team Barra still managed to get the win. With five NHRA events and five different NHRA winners I think that it is safe to say this is the wildcard event and whoever figures out a winning strategy first may just gain a big advantage over the field. That is if there is even a winning strategy to be found.
